Monday 1st February 2010

I attended the
Havant Borough 50+ Forum at Havant Borough Council Offices in the afternoon.

Tuesday 2nd February 2010

I drove into Havant to put in an appearance at the
Havant Borough 50+ Forum Coffee Morning at the beacon Centre in the Meridian Shopping Centre.

I recognised several of the people there from other meetings. The most significant occurrence was a long conversation with Brandon Taylor, also of
Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association, along with, later, Doris, Brandon’s wife.

Brandon was again surprised that I had not heard from
Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association, regarding my offer to join the Committee of the Association, having heard nothing since I received an E-mail from Chris Stanley, the Acting Chairman, on 16th October 2009. He suggested that Keith Chessell, the former Chairman, might be able to help, apparently Keith still having some involvement.

The conversation turned to the Internet and we were joined by Doris Taylor. I had already mentioned some of the background t o my problems with Havant Borough Council to Brandon and reiterated it in more detail when Doris joined us.

Later, I met and spoke to
County Councillorr Ann Buckley , who I had come across occasionally over the last several years. Ann Buckley was not only a Hampshire County Councillor but also a Havant Borough Councillor and Member of the Havant Liberal Democrats . Most of the conversation with Councillor Buckley concerned the problems I was having, and had over many years, with Business Link Hampshire discriminating against me. she mentioned County Councillor County Councillorr Roy Perry , who I had heard of in connection with business matters in Hampshire, though suggested the obvious that I should write to County Councillor County Councillor Ray Bolton , who represented my Havant Borough of St Faith (I am in the Denvilles, of St Faith's) as both Havant Borough Councillor and Hampshire County Councillor. as I have been denied political representation as much as assistance from Business Link Hampshire, I was not too sure about contacting local Councillors but was aware that I could do so and publish developments on the Internet; that is probably, what will happen. Councillor Buckley seemed quite taken aback when I told her that, based on my experience of business in Hampshire, I would have to recommend that other people considering bring their business to Hampshire should either not do so, or should ensure that they kept all of their lines of support, advice, finances and communication outside the County open and ready to use them when necessary. With the exception of the Chambers of Commerce, southern entrepreneurs and their friends, Hampshire and its supposed business support is somewhere between atrociously useless and hostile to small business.

Sunday 21st February 2010

In anticipation of Business Linkhampshire discriminating agaisnt me and being as unhelpful as usual I decided to post a predictive Blog; this is at A Prediction:
Business Link Hampshire - A Prediction.

Mon
day 22nd February 2010

The day of the cancelled appointment with Jenny Oakley of
Business Link Hampshire at the Pastoral Centre, Emsworth,  arrived.

I was supposed to receive a 'phone call from Nick Keogh, of Business Link Hampshire, at 10.30 a.m., as promised by Sarah Anderson yesterday. The 'phone call never came.

At about 11.30 a.m. I 'phoned business Link Hampshire, to speak to Sarah Anderson but only got as far as an answering machine, due to the lines, apparently, being busy. after the usual "Your call is imp0ortant to us" (never mind the heavy irony) I left a message asking about the missed call from Nick Keogh. Then Jo and I went to Wyevale Garden centre, in Bartons Road, Havant, for lunch. On our return the first thing I checked was the answering machine; the was no return call from Business Link Hampshire.
