A fault had
developed with my new Acer laptop so I took it back to “At Your Fingertips” in
the Greywell Centre, Leigh Park, Havant. When Ian Bennett tried to run it
the computer would not work on either the battery or the mains power supply,
so, unfortunately, it had to go back to Acer. That was annoying as I had got
used to the new machine, was very pleased with it and was using it a great
deal.Later in the day I received a
fascinating E-mail from someone I do not know but found me on the Internet.:
Subject: Lorelei
Greetings Mr. King.
My Name is K***** M*******. I was born in New York USA
march 1967 and grew up in the island
of Puerto Rico. Since the
age of 7 or 8, I been having a dream that I’m on an edge and I can see
myself floating in the water below I can feel the coldness and myself slipping
away.
When I was in High School I entered into an
arts contest and made a beautiful drawing of mount and a castle on a cliff
looking over a river. That was the first time I heard the name Rhine River
as one of the professors thought I drew it because I knew about the place.
In Feb of 1992 my son was born. And my life
changed. I started to get strong déjà vus. Because of my grandmother being a healer ... and with her passing away the
following year... I believed that her ability and gift was awakened in me along
with motherhood.
There is just one thing that really is
driving me crazy. I keep seeing the same numbers when I think about the Rhine... 366 and 144 and the number 222. By doing Google
search using those numbers and the Rhine
River I found you. Is
there any connection with the number 366 and 144? I have so much to share
with you... as well as questions about a place called Cologne. I apologize if my English is not
perfect my language is Spanish. I currently live in Western Australia. Thank you kindly for your
assistance.
K***** M*******
Though short of
time these days, I spent a couple of hours doing some research, though that
only resulted in discovering that the Roman Army was able to cross the Rhine in
366 A.D. due to it freezing over and being reminded that 144 is a
Fibonacci number. In due course, I E-mailed people I know who might have some
ideas, so we will have to wait and see.

A very wet day
though Jo and I had arranged to go to Redhill to visit our son, Tim, and his
girlfriend/partner, Jo, whom we had recently learned was expecting our second
grandchild. We set off for West Sussex to our daughter’s house and went from there,
eventually, travelling to Redhill with Emma and Ann, our granddaughter.
In the afternoon
we all travelled Dorking way, for Jo to collect her car from a garage and to
visit a Christmas Fair at a local pub.
All in all it was a very pleasant day, even though spoilt a little by the
weather.

Sometime during
the day, in a conversation with Jo, she asked if I had heard anything from Chris
Stanley, the Acting Chairman of Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association, following
my earlier E-mails to him about joining the Residents’ Association Committee. I
said that I had not and Jo said she thought the continued delay was rather
strange.

Havant
Borough 50+ Forum - Meeting at the Civic Offices, Havant
Unfortunately I
was a little late for the December meeting of Havant
Borough 50+ Forum at the Civic Offices, Havant; it had been brought forward
to 1.30p.m., something I did not realise until I re-read the minutes of the
previous meeting just before setting off, though commitments would not have
allowed me to get there any earlier than 2.00p.m. anyway. As it happened and as
I had already surmised, the meeting started half an hour earlier to allow for
other business before the answering of questions to be submitted to Sandy Hopkins, Chief Executive of Havant Borough Council
and Councillor
Tony Briggs, Leader of Havant Borough Council, though it turned out that
only Councillor
Tony Briggs was available as Sandy Hopkins had to go to another meeting in the north of
Hampshire.
During the meeting I had some ideas for questions
for Sandy Hopkins, and Councillor Tony Briggs, of Havant Borough Council at
the next meeting of Havant
Borough 50+ Forum Meeting on Monday 7th December 2009.
Councillor
Briggs answered the questions on his own. the included my questions,
though some, particularly the one about repairing the damage to
Blenheim Gardens, caused by heavy vehicles going to Copsey's Nurseries,
were combined with other questions and there was some skipping over of
the real questions, particularly in that case. Many of the answers were
reasonable, or mostly so, but there was also an element of buck
passing, particularly regarding the repairs to Blenheim Gardens, it
being said that roads were a County Council responsibility, even though
it was Havant Borough
Council
that had lead the decision to allow access for the vehicles that caused
the damage. One of Havant Council's traits is running away from
problems, including, particularly, those of their own creation.
Just before the close of the meeting, I was in conversation with
Brandon Taylor of the Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association. Brandon expressed
surprise when I mentioned that I had still heard nothing from Chris Stanley,
the Acting Chairman of Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association,
reiterating that the Association needed people for the Committee.
Tuesday
8th December 2009 Having
not heard from Cecilia Harding of "At Your Finger Tips" about
my computer I called at the shop while I was in the Greywell Area
of Leigh Park, only to find the shop closed and shuttered with a note
on the shutter to say that it was closed until 3rd December due to
illness, modified to "Until Further Notice".
That evening I
decided I had to link the old computer to my Web Sites. There was a
little problem with the FTP program but a brief conversation with
my Host Company, always helpful, soon sorted that out.
Wenesday

Jo and I had relatives
visiting, to exchange Christmas presents and for them to see Anna, they
not having had much time to do so at the wedding on 14th November.
